Atty. Ira Mari J. Sembrano is a Senior Associate at the Firm, with over five years of experience in corporate and commercial law practice. Atty. Sembrano’s practice areas include general corporate law, antitrust and competition, foreign investments, capital markets, securities, banking and financial services, financial technology, and tax. She has also served as transactional counsel for mergers and acquisitions (M&As), as well as finance and project development.

Atty. Sembrano specializes in data privacy law, from compliance to data breach management, for some of the most significant website platforms and technology start-ups in the Philippines, as well as those of major players in data-driven industries, such as customer solutions and business process outsourcing.

Atty. Sembrano also has extensive experience in labor and employment law, assisting local and multinational companies with labor compliance and providing guidance on the labor implications of corporate restructuring, including M&As and joint ventures.

In 2023, Atty. Sembrano, as one of the Senior Associates handling the transaction, played a key role in the successful signing of one of the country’s largest project financing deals, involving a major telecommunications company and several foreign and local banks, including multiple bridge loan financing agreements. It was recognized as the Finance Deal of the Year at the 2023 Asian Legal Business Philippine Law Awards and Telecoms Deal of the Year at the 2023 IJGlobal Awards.

Atty. Sembrano has successfully obtained approval from the Philippine Competition Commission for some of the most notable transactions facilitated by the Firm, including a joint venture to develop and operate solar power plants and the acquisition of a global logistics company.

Atty. Sembrano earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2015 and obtained her Juris Doctor degree, with honors, from the same University in 2019. She was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2020 and joined the Firm in the same year.

Atty. Sembrano is recognized as a Recommended Lawyer in Tax in the 2025 Legal 500 Asia-Pacific Rankings.
