Atty. Maria Francesca S. Vergara is a Senior Associate at Villaraza & Angangco, where she is part of the Commercial and Corporate Law Department.

She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Ateneo de Manila University in 2019, graduating with honors. She is also a Certified Public Accountant, having earned her degree from De La Salle University, where she likewise graduated with honors.

She was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2020 and has five (5) years of experience specializing in Commercial and Corporate Law. She began her legal career as an Associate at SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan from January 2020 to June 2021, and has been with Villaraza & Angangco since July 2021. She was promoted to Senior Associate in January 2024.

Atty. Vergara has extensive experience in taxation, securities, banking, and mergers and acquisitions. She has been involved in several notable commercial transactions and negotiations. She also has international legal exposure, having been seconded by Villaraza & Angangco in October and November 2024 to Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu, a leading international law firm headquartered in Japan.
