OUR PEOPLE

Mr. Kyle Gino M. Salazar joined the firm and was admitted to the bar in 2023. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Philippines College of Law. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the same university, where he graduated cum laude.

In law school, Mr. Salazar made a significant contribution by assisting in the drafting of a Petition for Certiorari challenging the constitutionality of the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020 before the Supreme Court of the Philippines. This landmark effort involved collaboration with prominent legal figures, including Retired Associate Justice Antonio T. Carpio, Former Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales, and distinguished Constitutional Law professors from the University of the Philippines College of Law.

Mr. Salazar specializes in Intellectual Property (IP) law, focusing on trademark and patent prosecution, as well as providing strategic counsel in IP litigation, including infringement, opposition, and enforcement actions. He has successfully managed complex cases involving trademark infringement and unfair competition, representing both foreign and domestic multinational corporations in opposition proceedings and unfair competition matters before regular courts and in inter partes proceedings at the Philippine Intellectual Property Office (IPOPHL). His expertise extends to domain name disputes, addressing issues such as cybersquatting, trademark violations, and improper use of domain names.

Mr. Salazar also reviews and advises on licensing and franchising agreements for major corporations. Notably, he has provided legal support to Golden Arches Development Corporation, the master franchisee for McDonald's in the Philippines, which holds the rights to operate and franchise McDonald's restaurants across the country. His work ensures that these intricate agreements comply with legal standards and effectively safeguard IP rights.

He oversees extensive trademark portfolios for some of the Philippines' most prominent brands, including BDO Unibank, Petron Corporation, ABS-CBN Corporation, Nutrifam, Aristocrat, Burlington, and Pan de Manila Food Co., Inc. Complementing his domestic practice, Mr. Salazar manages the trademark portfolios of the Firm’s top foreign clients, such as BigHit Entertainment Co., Ltd.
