Atty. Bejemino has more than eight (8) years of intellectual property experience. His practice includes patent, trademark and copyright prosecution, and intellectual property litigation. He applies his superior technical acumen to patent drafting and prosecution matters, freedom to operate searches, and patent invalidation and infringement cases. He has drafted patent specifications for applications which were filed with and granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the Philippine Intellectual Property office (IPOPHL). His patent expertise was invaluable in the Firm’s victory in the three (3) cancellation cases against patents involving Sitagliptin and Etoricoxib compounds, and was instrumental in securing the cancellation of five (5) patents covering Esomeprazole compound. Atty. Bejemino is ranked as a leading lawyer in IAM Patent 1000.
Atty. Bejemino obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Philippines in 2014, where he was awarded the Dean's Medal for Academic Excellence and the Salvador T. Carlota Prize for Best Paper in Administrative Law and the Law on Public Officers. In 2015, he placed fourth in the Philippine Bar Examinations. Atty. Bejemino also has a degree in Applied Physics from the same university, where he graduated cum laude, and has completed patent drafting and training courses provided by the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI) and the Japan Patent Office (JPO).
Atty. Bejemino is a member of the Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriete Intellectuelle (AIPPI), the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA), the Intellectual Property Association of the Philippines (IPAP), and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) – Makati Chapter, where he previously served as Assistant Secretary of the Board of Directors and Deputy Chairperson of the of the Ways and Means Committee. He has taught at the University of the Philippines College of Law, San Sebastian College of Law, and WIPO-IPOPHL Summer School.
