Atty. Ivan Viktor N. Mendez is a Senior Associate with six years of experience in litigation and dispute resolution. He is also a member of the Firm’s Arbitration Practice Group. His practice focuses on commercial disputes, and has represented clients in international and domestic arbitrations under the International Chamber of Commerce, Construction Industry Arbitration Commission and Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, Inc.
Ivan has been part of the teams representing clients in corporate rehabilitation, including the single largest trade creditor in one of the largest rehabilitation cases in the Philippines. He litigates banking, securities, and tax cases, and is part of the team representing one of the biggest domestic banks in relation to one of the largest cyber-heists in history. Ivan has likewise been part of teams representing the Firm’s clients in criminal cases involving cybercrime, investment and securities fraud, estafa and other administrative cases before the Office of the Ombudsman and Commission on Audit.
He obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2013, where he graduated with honors and was awarded the Dean’s Award (Silver Medal) for Best Thesis. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Management from the De La Salle University.
