Atty. Rashel Ann C. Pomoy is a Partner with more than nine (9) years of experience in litigation and dispute resolution, and labor and employment law. She is a Partner of the Firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department, and Deputy Head of its Labor & Employment Practice Group.
Her noted representations with the Firm include securing back-to-back multi-million arbitral awards in domestic construction and international commercial arbitration; causing the dismissal of multiple cases filed against the Firm’s clients with the Office of the Ombudsman and the Sandiganbayan; appearing as counsel for an heir in, arguably, the largest estate settlement case in the Philippines; and working with foreign counsel to have a case filed in New York against one of the biggest Philippine banks thrown out of court.
Rashel has extensive experience litigating single and multi-plaintiff cases before the National Labor Relations Commission. She also renders advisory work on employment concerns of various multi-national corporations and works closely with law firms in other jurisdictions.
She has written a variety of legal publications including the Mondaq, Law Reviews, Lexology and The Legal 500, and has conducted various seminars in Labor and Employment in the Philippines and abroad. Under her leadership, the Firm was chosen as partner Philippine law firm of King & Spalding, Seyfarth & Shaw and Taylor Vinters. She is also a preferred speaker in both local and international seminars and conventions to guide Philippine HR practitioners on best practices in Philippine employment law, including the IAM Training Services, European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines and the British Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines.
In 2023, Rashel was featured in the International Employment Lawyer’s (IEL) second annual Tomorrow’s Leaders survey as one (1) of the forty (40) experts from twenty-four (24) countries across the globe. She was also a Recommended Lawyer for Labour and Employment in The Legal 500 Asia-Pacific 2023 Rankings.In 2022, she was recognized by The Lawyer Network as the Employment Litigation Expert in the Philippines. In 2021, she was recognized as a “Key Lawyer” in both Dispute Resolution and Labor Employment by The Legal 500.
She is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and a member of ArbitralWomen, the Young International Council for Commercial Arbitration, the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, Inc. and the Philippine Institute of Arbitrators. She is a PDRCI trained arbitrator and PDRCI trained and accredited file counsel.
Rashel obtained her law degree from the University of the Philippines with a Dean’s Medal, and completed her undergraduate degree in Philosophy at the same university as magna cum laude.
