Villaraza & Angangco ("V&A Law") is pleased to announce the promotion of Atty. Danielle Francesca T.C. San Pedro of the Intellectual Property Department to Partner, effective 01 January 2023. 

 

Atty. San Pedro’s practice focuses on trademark prosecution and litigation. She assists in maintaining the extensive trademark portfolio of the Firm’s local and foreign IP clients. She also handles non-traditional and multi-disciplinary matters involving novel issues such as IP commercialization, licensing and franchising; copyright and broadcast rights vis-à-vis new technologies and the Internet; legal implications and regulatory requirements for over-the-top (“OTT”) services; and e-commerce promotion and advertisement of medical devices. 

 

Atty. San Pedro successfully defended the Korean brand name, “B. BY BANILA” in an opposition case filed by a local retail giant before the Philippine Intellectual Property Office and is currently handling the case in the appellate level before the Philippine Court of Appeals. She has also assisted in vindicating the trademark rights of several foreign brands, such as Mystery Ranch, Decathlon, Ninja Van, Jarrow Formulas and Paris Croissant, against bad faith registrations and applications in the Philippines. 

 

Atty. San Pedro obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo de Manila University where she graduated third in her batch. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in European Studies from the same university, where she graduated with honors. She is a member of the Intellectual Property Association of the Philippines (“IPAP”).
