Professional Background

Atty. Amber Shawn A. Gagajena is a Senior Associate with three years of experience in corporate law, taxation, immigration and litigation.

As one of the Firm’s resident certified public accountants, Amber provides competent legal and regulatory advice to foreign and local clients on corporate and commercial issues. He participates in numerous transactions involving mergers and acquisitions, due diligence exercises and the review of various transaction documents. His practice includes representing clients before trial courts and the Court of Tax Appeals, as well as various regulatory agencies, including the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Bureau of Customs, Bureau of Immigration and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. Amber also advises clients on offshore gaming operations and other dealings with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation. He is part of the team that was shortlisted for the Southeast Asia Awards 2020 for Corporate and M&A Teams of the Year by the international publication, The Legal 500.

Prior to obtaining his law degree, Amber gained extensive knowledge in audit and tax advisory as an Associate of the Tax Reporting and Operations Group of Sycip Gorres Velayo & Co. (SGV). He received his Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2017, where he graduated with Second Honors. Amber received his degree in Business Administration and Accountancy from the University of the Philippines in 2011. He was admitted as a Certified Public Accountant that same year by the Professional Regulatory Commission with a grade of 88.14%.
