Atty. Carlo Augustine A. Roman is an Associate with more than three years of experience in Corporate and Commercial Law. He is also a member of the Firm’s Labor Law Practice Group. Specializing in the fields of government contracts, telecommunications, corporate rehabilitation and e-commerce, Carlo has conducted due diligence in preparation for mergers and acquisitions of entities in the financial, logistics, energy, telecommunications, service and information technology industries, and has prepared regulatory advice on a wide variety of matters for investors seeking to navigate stringent reportorial and technical requirements under Philippine law.

Apart from his extensive experience in the field of labor and employment, providing thorough legal advice on labor matters affecting the operations of multi-national companies and major Filipino corporations, Carlo has advised clients on a wide array of matters including labor standards, regulatory compliance, employment contracts, employee discipline and termination, corporate reorganization, and labor litigation, and regularly conducts comprehensive reviews of companies’ employment documents and policies. Due to his broad experience, Carlo has been invited as a lecturer on labor law principles and key developments, in numerous conferences speaking before both local and foreign employers seeking compliance with Philippine labor law.

Carlo has also represented clients before civil, commercial and criminal courts, and quasi-judicial agencies, specifically in cases related to corporate rehabilitation, Philippine competition law and graft a and corruption.

Carlo earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Philippines in 2016, where he was awarded the Dean’s Service Award for his contributions to the UP Law Student Government and was named Distinguished Law Intern of the UP Office of Legal Aid. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics (Honors Program) from the Ateneo de Manila University, where he graduated cum laude.
