The Asian Legal Business* (“ALB”) Philippine In-House Legal Summit was held on April 28, 2016 at the Fairmont Makati where senior-level corporate counsels, business leaders and private practitioners discussed a wide range of legal issues and resolved the most pressing business challenges faced by in-house counsel today.

 

V&A Law’s Franchette Acosta and Paul Imperial presented the recently enacted Philippine Competition Act, emphasizing on its provisions which in-house counsels may encounter in their line of work. Their discussion included transactions which may be covered by the Philippine Competition Act and the grey areas of the law.

 

Other speakers discussed data protection and crisis management, rules in drafting arbitration agreements, Big Data and its use in in-house work, and increasing the efficiency of in-house legal departments.
